What Is Chiropractic?

Doctors of Chiropractic are unique. They recognize the importance of the bodies inbuilt ability to heal itself and the crucial role the nervous system plays in regulating and maintaining your health.

The master organ in the body is your brain. It communicates to the body via a super information highway known as the spinal cord. The delicate spinal cord is protected by the vertebral column or “backbone”.  From between each vertebra emerge the spinal nerves of the spinal cord. These vital nerves allow your brain to coordinate and communicate all the bodys functions. They connect your brain to, for example, your heart, lungs, digestive system, muscles, arms, legs, the hormonal system and much, much more.

When the moving vertebral bones become misaligned, or “stuck” out of position, pressure can be placed on all these sensitive, important nerves and create a condition chiropractors call a verterbral subluxation.

Chiropractors correct verteral subluxations with spinal adjustments in order to reconnect the link between your brain and body. Adjustments work to realign the vertebra and take the pressure off the nerves. Restoring full nerve function allows your natural healing capabilities to be optimized, restoring balance back to the body’s systems without the use of harmful drugs or surgery. The wholistic chiropractic approach to health care is what makes chiropractors unique.
