Chiropractic Techniques
At Peel Chiropractic we use a wide range of techniques
Chiropractic Techniques
Chiropractic is a natural approach to healthcare that recognises the body’s inbuilt ability to heal itself.
It is a non-invasive process, that serves to gently manipulate the spine and joints to help improve mobility, relieve pain, promote repair of damaged tissue and optimise the bodies innate ability to heal.
At Peel Chiropractic we use a wide range of techniques to ensure you receive exactly the right care, treatment and rehabilitation to resolve your musculoskeletal issues. These techniques include:
Diversified Adjusting
The most common form of chiropractic care administered in practices throughout the world. Quite literally a “hands on” approach. The manual adjusting technique requires the Chiropractor to directly apply gentle pressure to misaligned areas of the body using their hands.
Drop Table/ Thompson Technique
A drop table is a chiropractic technique that uses a specialized table to perform adjustments. The table has several sections that can be raised 1 to 2 inches depending on which area of the body is to be adjusted. The area of the drop table that is raised usually corresponds to the area of the spine to be adjusted.
Arthrostim Adjusting
A gentle approach to adjusting without the “popping” sound. The arthrostim allows our chiropractors to use the precise energy needed for optimum correction with a handheld instrument. Our patients appreciate that we can avoid the twisting, turning or cracking sounds during a manual adjustment.
SOT Blocking
Our Chiropractors use a form of blocking from a technique called Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)- the name comes from the relationship between the sacrum (base of the spine) and the occiput (base of the skull). This technique can be used to correct torsional strains across the pelvis, gently restoring balance to the body.
Flexion Distraction
This is a chiropractic technique used to treat many conditions of the lumbar spine. It is a non-surgical technique aimed at increasing spinal motion and treating disc bulges and disc herniations.
Quantum Neurology
This technique focuses on allowing nerves that may be associated with painful or debilitating injuries, illnesses, or conditions to stabilize so that the body can heal itself. This is a safe non-invasive technique that allows the doctor to evaluate, strengthen, and rehabilitate every major nerve in the body.
Rehabilitation
Specific exercises and stretches are prescribed to correct muscular imbalances. This enables you as a patient to take responsibility for your own health, and permanently change dysfunctional or postural patterns. Exercise is also recommended and advised at Peel Chiropractic clinic to prevent relapse, improve core stability, enable postural correction and strengthen the spine.
Postural Assessment
Good posture is an important way to maintain a healthy mind and body. If posture is noted as an issue during your assessment, the chiropractor will take a postural assessment by digital imaging. By looking at your posture we can show you ways to improve your posture to help prevent further injury or degeneration to over-worked muscles and areas of your spine.
